MEET THE STARS BEFORE THEY HIT THE TRACK THIS THURSDAY

Drag racing fans will have the chance to meet some of the stars before they hit Willowbank Raceway for the Australian Top Fuel Championships, with a special fan night planned for the Riverlink Shopping Centre foodcourt from 6.30pm this Thursday.
The official Top Fuel Championships event, to be held this Friday and Saturday (25/26 March), will see ANDRA Pro Series drivers from the Top Fuel, Top Bike and Pro Stock Motorcycle categories on the eve of the two-day event at Queensland’s premier drag racing facility.
Names such as Darren Morgan, Steve Read, Chris Matheson, Maurice Allen, Andrew Badcock and Glenn Wooster will be available to sign autographs, and fans can also take the chance to check out Read’s 7000 horsepower Top Fuel dragster which has been on display in the centre since Saturday March 19.
While they do so, HooZATT Entertainment will provide dance and comedy entertainment and event MCs Dean and Chad from the ANDRA Pro Series television program will regale the fans with drag racing stories, conduct question and answer sessions with the drivers and give away prizes.
Willowbank Raceway Managing Director Steve Bettes said the event was not one to be missed for any drag racing fan.
“With the Top Fuel Championships at Willowbank Raceway rapidly approaching, the fan night at Riverlink Shopping Centre is the perfect chance to wish some of the drivers well ahead of Friday’s qualifying,” said Bettes.
“Fans will have the chance to meet drivers from the ANDRA Pro Series brackets of Top Fuel, Top Bike and Pro Stock Motorcycle, who will be signing autographs, while Dean and Chad from ANDRA TV will be giving away prizes including merchandise and tickets to Friday’s action.”
The fan night is the conclusion of an in-centre promotion being held at Riverlink Shopping Centre, where fans have had the chance to talk to a Willowbank Raceway representative in the food court this week, go in the draw for tickets to the Castrol EDGE Winternationals, and receive a $5 discount off the gate price for this weekend’s Top Fuel Championships.
Tickets for the Top Fuel Championships are available now through www.willowbankraceway.com.au, and start at just $35 for adults per day, with students with ID gaining a discounted entry. Children 13 and under gain free entry to the event, which will kick off on Friday March 25 at 4.00pm with qualifying, including ANDRA Pro Series qualifying at 5.00pm, 7.00pm and 9.00pm. Saturday March 26 will see the on-track action get underway from 11.00am, with ANDRA Pro Series racing from 5.00pm and finals for all categories including the Pro racers from 8.30pm (all times approximate and subject to change)
While March is full of action, April also has its own fun to offer, with the all-new Queensland Auto Spectacular to be held at Willowbank Raceway on Sunday April 10.

The Queen’s Birthday long weekend event will take place across Friday June 10 – Monday June 13. Featuring all of the ANDRA Pro Series brackets as well as the Rocket All Stars Racing Series making their final fights for their championships, fans are guaranteed non-stop action.
